Over 100 year old pierced screw-back earrings. The stones are most likely mine cut diamonds. Testing was inconclusive. The gold has been authenticated as 14K. However, as with many vintage pieces, the setting is unmarked.
A mine cut diamond is a diamond that has been cut by hand before the advent of modern diamond cutting technology. They are characterised by a somewhat squarish or rounded shape, with a high crown, small table, and deep pavilion. In other words, they are not high quality as far as cut and clarity.
They are, nonetheless, a very nice pair of earrings, and a good value at asking price. Reasonable offers will still be welcome.
